This robot is among iRobot's premium models and it certainly performs well. It maneuvers easily across a variety of surfaces and is highly efficient at taking in dust, dirt, and debris. It's also extremely well-built and looks pretty good as well.
The S9 is iRobot’s latest premium S Series robot vacuum. It comes with a number of additional features that help it different from other models. For example, the iRobot app can use the camera of this model to create a map of your home that helps it navigate and clean efficiently.
There's no need to spend time cleaning the same spots again if the battery runs out. You can also set it up to start cleaning sessions and stop them with the use of a simple voice command via the iRobot app. The smart vacuum can even clean in the dark!
Carpet Boost is another great feature. It gives the S9 more suction power when it comes in contact with carpeting so that it will be able to pick up more dirt. This unit also uses an elongated front design that is closer to corners and walls than older round designs. This model does not work well with high-pile or shag carpeting.
During our tests, we found the iRobot S9+ cleaned thoroughly and efficiently a variety floor surfaces including hard and medium-pile carpets. It also performed well with laminate flooring, and vinyl flooring. It also did a good job of maneuvering between furniture and objects, although it did struggle with stairs, and could accidentally hit things like bookcases.
The S9's ability to return to its base and empty its dust bin when it's full was a great feature. It cut down on the requirement for manual maintenance. The dust bin should last about 30 loads, or around two months, and you'll have to replace the filter every once in a while (which is actually recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not very noisy when it operates which makes it a great option for families with children or pets.
Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid
Robot vacuum cleaners are made to do the work for you and they can clean carpet and hardwood floors. The most effective ones can be controlled and monitored via a smartphone app and some have mopping technology for bathroom and kitchen floors. They are a great option for busy families and are becoming more affordable. But if you want top-tech features for your robotic vacuum cleaner, you're going to have to spend a bit more.
The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuum and mopping machine is a fantastic choice for those living in multi-floored apartments. The vacuum's 0.6l bin can hold plenty of pet hair. Its dual motors offer powerful cleaning power. The dustbin can be removed and emptied with ease which is beneficial because you'll need to do it frequently.
It's also easy to set it up, though I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the very first time. You'll have to install the Eufy Home app and follow the directions for connecting it to your Wi-Fi network. Once you've done that, the app will help you create an accurate map of your home. You can name rooms and divide large spaces into smaller rooms (good for open plan living) and guide the X8 Hybrid to specific areas that require cleaning at the time of. Eufy's app is more intuitive and refined than other robots that have similar scanning and mapping functions.
The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can activate the mop or vacuum cleaner by voice thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a nice addition that makes the robot more hands-free. And it is working well in our test house.
As with many robotic vacuums the X8 Hybrid has some issues with bare floors. It may miss fur and small items and can cause bumps to objects like its charger on the charging platform. It's not as quiet as other models we've tested, and the whirring sounds can be distracting.
Roborock V3S Pro
This model isn't as feature-rich as some of the more expensive models we tested however, it does have all the essentials. It has a big dust bin which can hold a lot of dirt before needing to be emptied. The vacuum and mop system is great for both hard floors and carpets with low pile. It's also quiet. We were able to watch TV while it cleaned without feeling as though we were being overwhelmed by the sound.
Our test subjects were impressed with how easy it was to set up and use, and they were impressed by its capacity to take all the mess out of their flooring. It even did a pretty good job of picking up pet hair and messes from carpeting, but it was less successful in tackling stubborn stuck-on stains. The app was simple to use and easy to understand. It was able to set up the vacuum to clean regularly to cut down on manual work. It doesn't include any mapping or object avoidance technology, so it isn't able to be sent to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundaries are compatible).
Another model from the iRobot's budget line, the V3S Pro has some impressive features for its price. It was the best robot vacuum we tested to avoid obstacles and map them. It's also the best budget option for those looking for a more intelligent, self-emptying robot vacuum that can handle pet messes and hair on hardwood floors or low-pile carpeting. It's also extremely quiet and has a large dust bin that can hold plenty of debris prior to when it's time to empty it so you don't need to be concerned about having to empty it every time you use it.
The V3S Pro did not make it onto our top choices lists of trusted sources who test hands-on, but it was praised by Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They appreciated the ease with which it was install and use, but they also noted that its battery life is very short and it was unable to stay clear of some of the toughest problems we've encountered.

The Q Revo is a solid entry-level robot vacuum and mop that isn't slack on features or cost. You can avail many of the high-end features, including smart navigation and mapping, without paying top dollar. Roborock took its time in designing this smart cleaner. The result is that the product is extremely well-built and feels like it was made with premium materials. The base is strong and stable, with an integrated charging port for the battery. On top, you'll find the dock for the clean water tank and dirty water bins. You'll also find a wall under the dock that holds a sealed vacuum bag.
Once you pair your device with the app, you'll see a 2D or 3D map of your home, which shows the exact location where your robot is located and what area it's cleaning.
